Wedding Preview | Jackie & Dave | Fiddler’s Elbow – Bedminster, NJ

We had a great time being part of  Jackie & Dave’s wedding this past weekend at Fiddler’s Elbow in Bedminster, NJ.  What a gorgeous venue!  Acres of private golf courses and a fabulously appointed mansion house for the reception.  Combine all of that with a wonderful and energetic live band (The Janis Nowlan Band) and a couple  so in love and you end up with a memorable wedding experience.

They are off to Hawaii for their honeymoon where Dave will be playing lots of golf and Jackie will be drinking cocktails watching Dave play golf – Congratulations to Jackie & Dave!  More images to come.

Kentucky Derby Themed Wedding | John & Elaine | Highlawn Pavilion

We were so excited when John & Elaine asked us to photograph their Kentucky Derby themed wedding! Well, to be honest, it wasn’t exactly a wedding, though. On May 7, 2011 John & Elaine celebrated their 10 year wedding anniversary. They had already made plans to renew their vows and when they realized that the date fell on the day of the Kentucky Derby, as John said they, “decided to embrace the day.”

The Highlawn Pavilion, the same place where they were married 10 years earlier was the logical choice for the intimate gathering of family and close friends. With a dramatic view of the New York City skyline the venue makes for a gorgeous setting.

The one requirement? Guests had to dress up in derby attire! An assortment of hats, dresses, shoes, purses & cigars made for wonderful derby excitement! A wager board, mint juleps, wonderful food and the theme was complete! Wait – they also showed the live derby race from the bar area of the restaurant.

Happenings at The Red Ranch | Garden Photography | Bridgewater NJ

Well, the summer growing season is in full swing here at The Red Ranch.  We’ve got eggplant, tomatoes and peppers galore and zucchini, squash and cucumbers are coming soon!  Also, a great deal of summer flowers are blooming or are preparing to bloom.  Ican’t wait for our Dahlias & Cannas to start opening up.  It will certainly happen soon – check out below what stage one of our Dahlias is currently at!

Sneak Peek: Davina & Phil | Villanova Engagement Session

There was sushi galore at this engagement session, but so many others things too – a stroll thru their alma mater, spring flowers, a vogue moment or two, awesome jumping and some skirt twirling.

We spent the day touring Villanova University which is where they met and then grabbed a quick bite of sushi before calling it a day.  Stay tuned for the full post!

The Chestnut Pony | New Jersey | Equine Photography

You may have seen some equine photography pop up on our blog or Facebook page.  Kerry has been an avid horsewoman since she could walk, and has gotten us both into equine photography as she continues to meet and work with riders & barn owners.  Next month she’s headed to Ireland for an unguided ride in beautiful Donegal County.  I’ll miss her, but someone’s got to stay home and photograph the mid-July weddings!

This is CP (Chestnut Pony – got to love the name), a 4 year old pony my wife is currently training for the owner.  He’s a beautiful mover, and has a wonderful personality!  I went up to the barn this weekend to see my wife work with him, and grabbed a few shots afterwards as he enjoyed a romp in the field.  He’s almost ready for his first lessons under saddle, so stay tuned!
